Baby card for our hairdresser

Hello everyone, it has been so long since I have blogged again, but haven't been very well with my bladder condition and have been really down about it, so lost all my Mojo to do cards and it all seemed just too hard, but am feeling quite a bit better and thanks to help from my friend Jacqui, have finally made a card for our hairdresser who is expecting twins any day. It has been on my mind and I couldn't decide what colors to use, as don't know what she is having yet, so tried to make it non specific and hope you like what I have done. I think I have gone a little over board on the buttons, but never mind was fun and they are so small and cute.
I have another baby card to make for a special friend in Australia, Jessica, but won't be able to put it on my blog till after I think she gets it, as she looks at my blog and will see it before it is sent on its way!!! She is counting down till her babe arrives and is not long now.
Hope you are all well and thanks so much for taking the time to view my blog, I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment.
Take care

MOJO146

Hi there, I can't believe it is so long since I have blogged or done any cards LOL, but have done this week's Mojo as loved the sketch so much, so thought I would give it a go. Thanks to the wonderful team, they come up with great sketches each week. I seem to have lost a bit of my Mojo and not felt like doing cards as have been quite upset about all the changes to the colors that are coming up soon. We are loosing so many great ones, and have been wondering what the best approach is to get the new ones, but will have to wait and see what happens and what offers they offer us when the new colors come out.

On a brighter note tho, we have been having the most glorious weather this last week, beautiful sunny winters days, frosts in the morning, but so sunny and cool and bright, it's gorgeous and have been enjoying walking and getting out in the garden.

Hope you are all okay, and thanks for stopping by and having a look at my blog and love to hear your comments.

Take care, hugs Rel xxxxoo

MOJO Monday 110

Well am so excited Mojo had circles this time and I have finally purchased some spellbinder circles and scalloped circles - my darling hubbie said I had waited long enough and Christmas was too far away to wait - so who was I to argue...... he is a honey, so with an unltimatum from my dear friend Jacqui to have my Mojo done by Saturday (today) I HAVE IT DONE...... not sure I have mastered the embossing part of the circles yet, but still trying to get that one right, but at least have a very round circle instead of my wobbly ones!!! Here tis at last......

Here too is a picture of the sketch we had to follow and do our 'take of... I wonder if my circle is a little large around the wee hedgehog and perhaps could have been smaller, but hey tis my first attempt at using these things and tis just so cool to finally have them. Can only get better with use. Would love to know what you think, so please take time to comment, I love any feedback and it's great to hear from you all.
Hope everyone is well, I am just about getting over the flu, just left with a nasty cold, but has been a beautiful day and think Summer is just around the corner so yipee.....
Take care everyone.
Love Rel xxx

MOJO104

Hi can't believe I am back already and done my Mojo, I found this really hard as I just groaned when I saw another circle one as without nestabilities , I really struggle with the circle and couldn't bear to do another wobbly entry, so here is my take on it and did an oblong and then a small circle using my fiskars and scalloped stampin up punch. The Thank You stamp is a gorgeous one I received from my stampin friend Jacqui for Christmas last year and think it is so very nice. Thanks Jacqui. I decided I would use card from my scraps bin and nothing else, not sure I like what I have done, have changed it several times, but here goes and please tell me your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and hope you are all well and looking forward to Spring if you are in Oz or New Zealand. Take care Rel xx

Mojo Monday 102

Hello there, spent part of Saturday afternoon doing this, and just finished it off now being 3.23a.m. as can't sleep, so thought I would just do the last touches and get it posted before Mojo closes tomorrow nite NZ time as missed last week. I wanted to use a set I had not used for a while and love the bike stamp from the 'always time for you' stampin up set. I know my cutting out is a bit wonky!! on the white part, and can't wait till I can get some spellbinders and that will make all the difference. At the moment have to use a fiskars cutter I have, but tis only one shape and not a smaller one to go with it, so end up doing it free-hand, hence the wobbly cutting!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments about the baby card and my last Mojo 101, it is so neat to get your encouragement. Well just a short post tonite, better head back to bed and try and get some beauty sleep lol..... have a big day tomorrow, 11 choirs are singing in the afternoon in a competition I am part of, so need to rest as much as I can and be in good voice.
Thanks for looking and take care, Rel xxx

Mojo-Teresa Day 3

Hi, am getting through the mojo challenges and still have two to do, but not sure I will complete them, but for this one used a pretty stamp I picked up at a craft fair when I went with my friend Jacqui. I did promise Grant that I would not spend much, but could not help myself when I saw all the lovely stamps and picked up quite a few...... poor Grant! I have used lots of colors in this card but got the inspiration whilst out shopping in a local store called Briscoes and saw a dinner set in these colors and they looked so good, so tried to replicate them. Not sure if perhaps it's a bit busy, but anyway I like it. Let me know what you think, would love to hear from you and tis neat to get your comments, thank you so much. xxx

Mojo-Janette Day 6

This is one of my favourite stamp sets and haven't used it for a while. The wee circle stamp is a stampin up one I got off trade me called wishing you the best and really like all the four stamps in the set. I have used cardstock colors always artichoke, mellow moss and last years in color purely pomegranate. The ribbon is a zigzag felt one from a sale in town. I can't find out what the DSP is, sorry, if anyone knows, please tell me, would love to know.

Mojo Monday 98

Have finally done my Mojo, tis the last day to get it done, and have managed to sit for a while and stand doing it and think the finished card is quite neat considering. Have paper pierced around the petals of the flower. My back is still really sore and is obviously going to take a while to fully come right, and still feel like I am sitting on a piece of glass, tis so sharp in my left buttock. It is the piece of bone broken off.....
Had another really special weekend, Grant and I spent some time in the garden and cleaning the cars on Saturday,(me watching a fair bit as wanted so much to really get in to it but back wouldn't permit!) then went out to dinner on Saturday nite to Okurukuru using a voucher that Grant had been given by our very close friends in Katikati for his 50th birthday way back in February. It was a glorious sunset and we could see it looking out over the sea where our table was and it was truly magnificent. The meal was delicious and our waitress so attentive. So neat to be out and waited on - tis so close to where we live too, must go again with some friends.
Had a phone call from Brad and he is well, and heading out back to work north east of Roma and could be away for another 4-8 weeks!!!. so will be very quiet here without him.
Logan and Kelsey popped in this weekend and was so cool to see them, if only for a short time.
Logan really busy with his music and playing in one of his bands every weekend.
Well think that's all our news to date. Thanks for looking.
Take care Rel xx

Mojo Monday 88

Well was so excited, thought I would just check at 11p.m. N.Z. time and see if Mojo Monday was out yet and to my surprise it was, so even tho am exhausted from hours and hours of ripping up carpet and taking out hundreds of nails, decided to do Mojo Monday early for once.

LOVE this set "Embrace Life, and have vellumed the flower and used the DSP that goes with it.

Can't wait till tomorrow and the first half of the carpet gets laid, then Wednesday is a big day, when we put all the furniture back and pull up the other rooms not done and Thursday the others are done. LOL will be so pleased when it's all over and WOW it will look like a new house.

Can't wait.....

Mojo Monday 87

Hi, it's been ages since I have blogged, but have been really busy painting the stairwell and hall, which was a yucky pale green, so is now the same as the rest of the house which is a lovely "sisal" colour. Looks so much better and has been fun seeing the progress as the green colour disappeared. Grant has been re-building our linen cupboard and it looks fabulous. I now have plenty of shelves and a cool sliding door. Can't wait for the carpet to be laid next week and the place will look like new.
Needed a break from all the painting, so decided some card making was very much needed, so snuck out while leaving Grant to do some painting and made the Mojo challenge this week, love the layout of this one and really love this set. It is so versatile and has so many lovely stamps for many occasions, again it is a shame it is a retired one, but I still love it. I used grey card for the base color which is a first for me, I am not a grey fan, but after being at a class at Michelle, where we made an awesome card using the upsy daisy set, I loved it so much, had to order some, but this was one sheet I had from scrapbooking fever... I like stampin up color of grey much better is not so dark. The other colors I used were: barely banana, bashful blue ( a favourite) and a tiny bit of close to cocoa.
Thank you so much to those of you who are looking at my blog and making nice comments, I really appreciate it and get so excited to see a new comment.
We are both excited our big boy Brad comes home tomorrow from working in OZ so will be neat to see him, tho gather he will could be working away again in Taupo, so time will tell.
Bye for now and hopefully it won't be so long before I blog again. Rel

Can't keep away

I wasn't going to stamp for a few days as I said, but can't go past my craft room without thinking... maybe I have time to make just to a quick card... LOL was up most of the nite unable to sleep and was checking out splitcoaststampers.com and you would think I would have been sleepy this morning, but got up early after only about an hour's sleep!! and waved my darling off to work at 8a.m. and instead of catching a few shut eye hours, decided to make a creation. So two hours later this is it. It hasn't come up too well in the photo, have quite a bit of shadow on it, but love this wee stamp set and am sorry it is another one they have retired, but am glad to have it still and enjoy using it. Also love the DSP. I think stampin up have the loveliest DSP and it is so classy. I have lots, but there is a deal on at the moment where you buy three packs and get one free and I think I will be tempted again.
Had stamp club yesterday at Michelle's and her lovely boy Mason was home after having an awful time with an asthma attack. Poor love he didn't look his usual bright sparkly eyed self, but was enjoying being home and having the TV all to himself and being there with MUM home. Poor Michelle and Said it is such a worry when our children are sick and hope he is improving today and you can relax and get some sleep yourself Michelle.
We made three really cool things the one I liked most was a Mountain card, very snazzy. Also a flower pot card and that was gorgeous. Will be making lots of those even if it is time consuming cutting out the flowers that decorate the top.
Well have rambled on and need to have a catch up Nana nap before a busy nite having two choir practises getting ready for our first concert of the year which is on Sunday avo 24th May.
Thank you to my lovely friend Jacqui who is so encouraging over this blogging and keeping me at it. Also love any comments and suggestions you may think any of the cards may need.
Take care

Mojo Monday 86

Hi, have had a really busy week with one thing and another, spent most of Mother's Day choosing new bathroom fixtures such as new shower unit, vanity and bath and all the tape wear that goes with it. Was so much fun, and exciting to think in a few months when Grant has some leave we will be able to get into together and re-do our downstairs bathroom which is much needed for a re-vamp.
Was unable to see my Mum on Mother's day as she had gone away to Palmerston North to her grandson's graduation ceremony, so we caught up on Tuesday when she returned. She doesn't like us getting her mother's day gifts, and prefers the practical things, so made her a bacon and egg pie and it was so well received. She loved it and was tickled pink to think I had made one for her, so was a great idea of my lovely hubby's. Made an extra one for us at the same too and we enjoyed it for our lunch that day.
Have been trying to get to make this Mojo since it came out Tuesday and found this one quite hard as wasn't sure what stamp set to use and DSP, but got there in the end and love this retired set and am pleased with how it has turned out.
We are heading for a busy weekend as are having new carpet laid in all the house except the lounge, so have the massive job of moving the furniture and ripping up the old carpet and re-painting anything that needs it, so don't think I will get much stamping done for a few days, but will see.
Thanks for looking at my blog and to all of you who have commented on the MOJO attempts, really appreciate your feedback and love to hear from you, and so love your comments.
Bye for now Rel

Apple and Cherry Ripe

Hi, tis another chilly day here, and what better way to fill the time but to make cards. Have had fun using this set "Tart and Tangy", using the layout of Mojo Monday 85 with a few differences I have done of my own. I had thought I may sell this set as had not been using it, but on second thoughts love the cheeries and have a lovely dinner set with the green edge and the same cheeries round the edge, so obviously that is why it appealed when I bought it. Also love strawberries (especially dipped in chocolate fondue), so will keep this set after all. Love the pretty designer paper also, and think together it looks quite cute.
Thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday Number 85

Hi, have been wanting to blog all day, but will be forgiven for not doing so yesterday, as my hubby came home after being away in Lyttleton, since March 28th, and it was so so so good to see him and we had so much to catch up on.... he he..

Have been doing the Mojo challenge tonite and have made two cards very similar but have chosen the one I think is best. which is the first one.
Have also been making a key ring out of hodgepodge and is not too bad for a first attempt. I got the idea off another blog a lovely lady named Makeesha Bly. If you want details on how to make this her instructions are great. She has just come home from Convenction, so Michelle, you may have met her.
